Celebrating its 25th anniversary
this year, Tim Haines Chevrolet Oldsmobile Cadillac originates from one half of the founding Jackson dealership. A team of 31 employees provides automobile sales and leasing, an excellent service department, and a comprehensive parts department. A state-of-the-art body shop facility and collision centre - Car City Collision - is now operating offsite. Both facilities are located along the Car City corridor on Highway 23 north.
Also originating from the Jackson dealership, Larry Hudson Pontiac Buick GMC currently employs over 40 staff at its Highway 23 location. Founded in Mitchell in 1984, Larry Hudson moved the dealership to Listowel in September 1995. Specializing in new Pontiac and Buick vehicles, as well as GMC trucks, Larry Hudson Pontiac Buick GMC also carries used cars and trucks of all makes and models.
Located at 754 Main Street East and owned by Lyle Johnson, Listowel Chrysler has grown to become southwestern Ontario’s largest full-line dealer of Chrysler, Dodge, Plymouth, and Jeep™ cars, trucks, mini-vans, and sport utility vehicles. Listowel Chrysler employs 34 people, many who have been with the business for more than 10 years. A complete service department provides service to all makes of vehicles and a state-of-the-art body shop offers free estimates for repair work.

Listowel is ‘Car City’. This designation is not an accident, but rather the result of the hard work and cooperation of the Listowel Car Dealers Association, a group consisting of five of Listowels’ most successful businessmen.
The concept of Car City originated in the late 1960’s. Harvey Krotz of Harvey Krotz Ford and Bob MacMullen of Listowel Chrysler foresaw the significant benefits of cooperation. At that time 500,000 potential customers lived within a 30-minute drive, but reaching them through a planned media campaign would need a united approach - so the Association was formed.
The founding members of the Dealer Association were of Listowel Chrysler, Harvey Krotz Ford, Jacksons General Motors, and Davidson’s American Motors.
